Thunderbird Challenge was an annual MP skills competition that ran from 1993-1999 in Winnipeg. Over the years, MPs from across the branch competed against each other in pistol, rifle, and physical fitness events. Not only did this event demonstrate the capabilities of our members, it forged lasting bonds of camaraderie and esprit de corps.
As part of our week of anniversary events in the National Capital Region, we are bringing Thunderbird Challenge back at Connaught Ranges, Ottawa, at 0800 hrs, 10 June 2015. Complete the obstacle course, pistol shoot and rifle shoot.
As this is a military event, only currently serving members of the Military Police (regular or reserve force) are permitted to compete. However, everyone is welcome to attend to watch this exciting competition. Furthermore, you are also welcome to volunteer at the event if you are a serving or retired member. A cash BBQ will also be on hand for refreshments.
Complete details, including rules and a registration form can be downloaded below. (English only…a French version will be available early in the new year).
Note: registration must be completed no later than 15 March 2015.
Don’t delay in registering for the event; there are only a limited number of spots available!
